Audio Visual Commissioning Engineer

Image Supply Systems is a leading provider of professional audio visual and conferencing solutions serving Irish and international markets. 

Due to expansion we are currently looking for an Audio Visual Commissioning Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in commissioning of complex AV and video conferencing installations.

Summary

The AV Commissioning Engineer is responsible for ensuring the successful installation, setup, and calibration of audio-visual systems and equipment. They work closely with the project team, including AV designers, integrators, and clients, to ensure that AV systems are functioning correctly and meet the specified performance criteria. The role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • System Commissioning: Conduct commissioning of audio-visual systems, including audio, video, lighting, and control systems, to ensure all components work together seamlessly.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform rigorous testing and troubleshooting of AV systems to identify and resolve any technical issues, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
  • Calibration: Calibrate audio and video systems, such as speakers, microphones, displays, projectors, and cameras, to achieve the desired audio and visual quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on all AV installations, ensuring they adhere to industry standards, project requirements, and client expectations.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation of the commissioning process, including system configurations, test results, and any modifications made during the process.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the AV design team, project managers, and clients during the design, installation, and commissioning phases to ensure a successful and smooth project delivery.
  • Training: Provide training to clients and end-users on how to operate and maintain AV systems effectively.
  • Upgrades and Updates: Stay up-to-date with the latest AV technologies and industry trends, and recommend upgrades or updates to existing systems to improve performance and functionality.
  • Site Visits: Travel to project sites as needed to oversee the commissioning process, troubleshoot issues, and provide on-site support.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to safety regulations and protocols while working on AV installations to ensure the well-being of oneself and others.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in commissioning and troubleshooting complex AV systems.
  • Strong understanding of audio-visual equipment, including amplifiers, DSP processors, displays, projectors, control systems, and signal routing.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as HDMI, HDBaseT, Dante, and other AV protocols.
  • Familiarity with audio and video calibration tools and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clients, project teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • A full clean driving license is essential for the position.
  • All candidates must speak English fluently.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Crestron, Extron and QSC technology is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Teams and Zoom room solutions is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of IT and networks desirable.

Terms

  • Permanent, full time
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday excluding public holidays
