Junior Audio Visual Installation Engineer

Due to expansion we are currently looking for a Junior Audio Visual Installation Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in AV and video conferencing installation.

Summary
The Junior AV Installation Engineer is an entry-level role in the audio-visual industry, responsible for assisting in the installation, setup, and configuration of AV systems and equipment. Working under the guidance of senior AV technicians or engineers, the Junior AV Installation Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of AV solutions for clients and ensuring their successful operation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- AV System Installation: Assist in the installation of audio-visual systems, including mounting displays, speakers, projectors, and other AV equipment in various environments such as conference rooms, theaters, classrooms, and commercial spaces.
- Cable Management: Assist with cable running, dressing, and termination to ensure a clean and organized installation.
- Equipment Setup: Assist in configuring and connecting AV equipment, such as video conferencing systems, audio processors, amplifiers, and control interfaces.
- Troubleshooting: Learn to identify and troubleshoot basic technical issues in AV systems and work with senior engineers to resolve them promptly.
- Testing and Calibration: Assist in testing AV equipment and performing basic calibration of audio and video systems for optimal performance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of the installation process, equipment serial numbers, and any modifications made during the installation.
- Support: Provide support to senior AV technicians/engineers during the installation process and follow their guidance in completing tasks effectively.
- Health and Safety: Comply with safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and the team.
- Learning and Development: Continuously learn about new AV technologies, installation techniques, and industry best practices to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the installation team, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Candidate Requirements
- Basic understanding of audio-visual equipment, cabling, and installation processes.
- Familiarity with common AV connectors, terminations, and signal flow.
- Hands-on experience with basic hand and power tools used in AV installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior AV technicians/engineers.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and to assist with the movement of equipment when required.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team.
- Ability to follow technical instruction and attention to detail are essential.
- May suit part qualified/ qualified electrician with site experience.
- A full clean driving license is essential for the position.
- All candidates must speak English fluently.
Desirable
- Familiarity with Crestron, Extron and QSC technology is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Teams and Zoom room solutions is an advantage.
- Knowledge of IT and networks desirable.
Terms
- Permanent, full time
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday excluding public holidays
